My fifth novel is out in the world! I was so thrilled to celebrate the release of A Room Away from the Wolves at a some wonderful bookstores during release week, and with so many wonderful people!
My new book is out September 4, and I’ll be traveling around this fall to help promote it! I’ll be launching the book in NYC and Philly, and then doing events in Boston, Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Providence, Austin, Dallas, and more!
This spring, I’ll be at the annual regional New England SCBWI conference—held this year in Springfield, Massachusetts—where I’ll be giving a talk on taking risks and teaching first pages workshops. The theme of this year’s conference is “Expand & Diversify Your Portfolio.”
I cannot even articulate how excited I am about this upcoming event… To celebrate the March 2016 paperback release of The Walls Around Us, I’m doing an event in New York City with one of my favorite authors, Courtney Summers!
The Walls Around Us was selected as Salem College’s “First-Year Read” for 2015! This means that all incoming first-year students will be assigned to read Walls over the summer, and then this fall I will be visiting campus to meet with students and give a public lecture about the book!
If you’re in New York City, I’d love to invite you to a talk I am doing for the NY Metro chapter of SCBWI on Finding Your Own Unique Voice on June 9. You do not need to be a member of SCBWI to attend.
On Monday, March 23, at 7pm, I am having my first-ever launch event in my writing career! And it couldn’t be a more exciting moment or combination for me…
I’ll be visiting Texas this year! I will be one of the authors featured at the first-ever North Texas Teen Book Festival on March 7 at the Irving Convention Center.
I’m excited to say that I will be one of the authors featured at the 2015 ABA Winter Institute, which will be held in Asheville, NC, this coming February!
I will be on faculty at the 2015 Desert Nights, Rising Stars Writers Conference at Arizona State University in Tempe… and registration is NOW OPEN.
I will be at the 2015 AWP Conference in Minneapolis, and all three panel proposals I was on were accepted for the conference (meaning, I could choose only two to be a part of!)… I’m excited to be a part of the following panels:
