Our online project FORESHADOW: A Serial YA Anthology is coming to print! In October, Algonquin YR will publish Foreshadow: Stories to Celebrate the Magic of Reading and Writing YA, featuring 13 stories by new voices paired with craft talks by me & Emily X.R. Pan.
What an honor and incredible surprise to find my novel The Walls Around Us featured on this list of “The 30 Best Young Adult Novels of the 2010s” from Paste Magazine.
In September 2019, a brand-new anthology of YA short stories by Jewish writers was published, and my own story, “Twelve Frames,” was included! It’s a Whole Spiel: Love, Latkes, and Other Jewish Stories was edited by Katherine Locke and Laura Silverman.

In the midst of release week, I was surprised by a new review of A Room Away from the Wolves from NPR! I don’t usually read reviews, but I happened to read this one, and I came away feeling very understood.
My fifth novel is out in the world! I was so thrilled to celebrate the release of A Room Away from the Wolves at a some wonderful bookstores during release week, and with so many wonderful people!
Would you like to do a writing retreat with me next year? The 2019 YA Novel Workshop at the beautiful Djerassi Resident Artists Program in California will be May 4–10, and I’m seeking 10 YA writers to join me!
My new book is out September 4, and I’ll be traveling around this fall to help promote it! I’ll be launching the book in NYC and Philly, and then doing events in Boston, Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Providence, Austin, Dallas, and more!
